Cruise Along Singapore River For FREE With Your SG Culture Pass Before It Expires!

Looking for a unique way to spend your SG Culture Pass credits? One of the most enjoyable experiences we recently tried was the Singapore River Cruise, and the best part — it did not cost us a single cent out of pocket thanks to the SG Culture Pass.

Singapore Citizens aged 18 and above received $100 worth of SG Culture Pass credits from 1 September 2025, and these credits are valid until 31 December 2028. Any unused credits will expire after that, so don’t wait until the last minute to use them!

Our journey began at Clarke Quay, where we boarded a modern electric river boat which cost $25 Culture Pass. To our surprise, there were no other passengers on board except us and the boat captain. It felt less like a public cruise and more like having our own private chartered vessel cruising through the heart of Singapore — all without spending any additional money.

The approximately 40-minute cruise offered a completely different perspective of Singapore’s skyline and rich history.

As the boat gently glided along the historic Singapore River, we passed the colourful riverside shophouses and lively restaurants of Clarke Quay. The iconic Read Bridge soon came into view, followed by the impressive skyscrapers of the Central Business District rising above the riverbanks.

Further downstream, we admired the grand colonial architecture of the historic Fullerton Hotel, once Singapore’s General Post Office. The contrast between old-world heritage buildings and modern glass skyscrapers created some truly stunning photo opportunities.

The cruise then brought us past Boat Quay, where rows of restored conservation shophouses line the waterfront. Soon after, the famous Merlion came into sight, proudly spouting water into Marina Bay while tourists gathered around to snap photographs.

As we entered Marina Bay, the scenery became even more spectacular. We were greeted by breathtaking views of the lotus-inspired ArtScience Museum, the distinctive Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, and the world-famous Marina Bay Sands dominating the skyline. Watching these landmarks from the water felt entirely different from viewing them on foot.

The calm waters, gentle breeze, and uninterrupted panoramic views made the experience incredibly relaxing. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this cruise offers a wonderful opportunity to appreciate Singapore’s transformation from a humble trading port into a modern global city.

If you still have unused SG Culture Pass credits sitting in your account, consider using them for the Singapore River Cruise before they expire. It is one of the easiest and most scenic ways to enjoy Singapore’s heritage, skyline, and waterfront attractions — and you might even be lucky enough to have the whole boat to yourself, just like we did.
