Dropped by IMM on a weekday and ended up at one of those dangerous food combos — Popeyes and Encik Tan sitting right next to each other. One stop, two cravings solved.
First stop: Popeyes 
We ordered the 3-pcs Original Chicken Meal Set, and honestly — this one didn’t disappoint.
The fried chicken was served piping hot, crispy on the outside, and juicy and tender inside. Each bite still had that signature Popeyes crunch, even without any fancy sauces.
Then came the waffle with chocolate soft serve 
.
At first glance, it looked slightly burnt, but don’t judge too fast — the taste was fantastic.
Crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, and best part? Made fresh upon order.
As for the chocolate soft serve, expectations were low — but wow.
The chocolate was thick, smooth, not overly sweet, and paired really well with the hot waffle.
And let’s not forget the Cajun fries 
.
That light Cajun sprinkle gave it a totally different flavour profile compared to regular fast-food fries — addictive and unique.
Second stop: Encik Tan 
We moved on to Encik Tan’s famous curry rice, a go-to quick meal for busy working folks.
Ordered the Breaded Chicken Cutlet Curry Rice ($5) and Fried Fish Fillet Curry Rice ($6) — very wallet-friendly.
The curry sauce has clearly improved compared to my last visit a year ago — richer, smoother, and more balanced.
Perfect with rice, egg, and crispy protein. Simple, comforting, and filling.
Overall verdict:
Super satisfying weekday lunch, good variety, affordable prices, and no regrets walking away full and happy
