After months of anticipation, the Singapore Air Force Museum at 400 Airport Road has officially reopened its doors to the public on 17 June 2026. The museum had been closed for renovation since November 2025 and now returns with refreshed galleries, upgraded exhibits, immersive multimedia experiences, and an enhanced outdoor display area that celebrates the proud history of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF).

Located beside Paya Lebar Air Base, the museum has long been one of Singapore’s most fascinating yet often overlooked attractions. First established in 1988 to preserve and showcase the heritage of the RSAF, it tells the story of how Singapore transformed from a young nation with limited air defence capabilities into one of the region’s most advanced air forces.
Address: Singapore Air Force Museum, 400 Airport Road, Singapore 534234
Opening Hours: 10:00am – 5:00pm (Closed on Wednesdays)

One of the highlights of the newly refreshed museum is its immersive indoor gallery. Visitors can journey through decades of RSAF history, from its early years to the modern era of advanced fighter aircraft, helicopters, surveillance systems, and unmanned aerial vehicles. Interactive displays, multimedia presentations, and in-house animated visual shows bring the stories of Singapore’s pilots, engineers, and aircrew to life. The animated fighter jet sequences are particularly impressive, allowing visitors to experience the excitement of air operations through sound, light, and motion effects.

Outside, aviation enthusiasts will find themselves surrounded by an impressive collection of retired aircraft and military equipment. Among the exhibits are iconic fighter jets such as the Northrop F-5S Tiger II, BAC Strikemaster Mk 84, and TA-4SU Super Skyhawk, which played important roles in the development of Singapore’s air defence capabilities. Visitors can also admire helicopters including the Bell UH-1H Huey, Eurocopter Fennec, and AS332 Super Puma rescue helicopter that once served the RSAF in transport, rescue, and operational missions.

The outdoor display area also features radar systems, air defence equipment, missiles, anti-aircraft guns, and surveillance platforms that offer a glimpse into the technology used to protect Singapore’s skies. Standing beneath these massive machines gives visitors a true appreciation of their size and engineering.

What makes the museum especially appealing is that it caters to visitors of all ages. Aviation enthusiasts can dive deep into military aviation history, while families and children can enjoy the interactive exhibits, large aircraft displays, and countless photo opportunities. Whether you are a history buff, a military enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique weekend destination, the refreshed Singapore Air Force Museum offers an engaging and educational experience.

With its modernised galleries, immersive storytelling, and impressive collection of aircraft, the Singapore Air Force Museum is once again ready for take-off, inspiring a new generation to learn about Singapore’s aviation heritage and the men and women who keep the nation’s skies safe.
