DBS Cardholders Get Up to S$6 Off Eggs and Rice Every Saturday

Rice and eggs may not sound as exciting as a buffet or café promotion, but when grocery prices keep climbing, saving a few dollars on everyday necessities can feel surprisingly satisfying.

DBS and POSB have launched the DBS Saturday Savings programme, giving cardholders instant discounts on selected eggs and rice at participating Sheng Siong and Giant supermarkets across Singapore.

When Does the Promotion Start?

The offer runs every Saturday from 18 July to 29 August 2026, covering seven Saturdays in total. Customers must pay using any valid DBS or POSB credit or debit card to enjoy the savings.

There is no minimum spending requirement, so shoppers do not need to fill an entire trolley just to qualify. Purchase one eligible item, pay with the right card and the discount will be deducted immediately at the cashier.

What Can Shoppers Save?

Cardholders can enjoy:

Buying both eligible products in the same transaction gives shoppers a total saving of S$6. Each customer is limited to one egg redemption and one rice redemption per day.

At Giant, the eligible products are:

  • Giant Jasmine Fragrant Rice, 5kg — usual price S$9

After the discount, the eggs cost S$3.65, while the rice costs S$6.

At Sheng Siong, shoppers can purchase:

  • Egg For You Fresh Eggs, 30 pieces — usual price S$6.65
  • Happy Family Fragrant Jasmine Rice, 5kg — usual price S$10.50

After applying the discount, shoppers pay S$3.65 for the eggs and S$7.50 for the rice.

Where Is the Offer Available?

The promotion is available at 129 participating Sheng Siong and Giant outlets islandwide. DBS said weekly redemption quantities have increased to approximately 90,000, more than three times the number offered during its previous grocery campaign.

However, the discounts are available on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks and redemption allocations last. Giant’s allocation will generally be refreshed weekly, while Sheng Siong’s redemption quantity is refreshed monthly. Shoppers should check with the cashier before making payment, especially later in the day.

The offer cannot be combined with other promotions, discounts, store vouchers or CDC Vouchers.

DBS’ newly announced egg-and-rice promotion currently applies only to Sheng Siong and Giant.

This programme is the first phase of DBS and POSB’s S$10 million cost-of-living support initiative. From September 2026, the bank is also planning to bring back its popular S$3 PayLah! Saturday Cashback campaign for participating hawker stalls and heartland shops. Further details will be released nearer to the launch.

For families already planning their weekly grocery run, Saturday may now be the best day to restock the rice container and egg tray—just remember to bring the correct DBS or POSB card.
