Remember the old chalets in Pasir Ris where families gathered for barbecues, birthday parties and overnight mahjong sessions? One familiar site has received a major glow-up. Coliwoo Resort Changi, located at 159 Jalan Loyang Besar, is transforming a roughly 40-year-old holiday property into Singapore’s first resort-style co-living hotel.

Older Singaporeans may remember the address as Costa Sands Resort (Pasir Ris). It was later operated as CherryLoft Resorts, before the state-owned property was temporarily used as workers’ accommodation and eventually left unused for several years.
The new chapter began when Coliwoo, then described as the co-living arm of LHN Group, won a Singapore Land Authority tender for the site. The award was announced in June 2025 after the tender closed in December 2024. Coliwoo submitted a monthly rental bid of S$225,000 and received a three-year lease, with options for two additional three-year terms. Technically, Coliwoo is the new lessee and operator, not the landowner, as the property remains state-owned. The resort is now operated under Coliwoo Holdings Limited.
Following a 10-month restoration, the development has emerged with 380 rooms, making it Coliwoo’s third-largest property. The sprawling resort occupies approximately 380,866 sq ft, or about 3.54 hectares, with nearly 106,949 sq ft of gross floor area. Almost 40 per cent of its existing greenery was retained, along with the recognisable terracotta-tiled roofs. Old timber screens were even turned into benches, tables, planter boxes and decorative walls.
For couples or pairs of friends, the single-level Superior Studio measures around 220 sq ft, accommodates two guests and starts from S$190 per night. Larger groups can choose the approximately 400 sq ft, two-level Maisonette, fitted with three super-single beds and priced from S$280 per night. These are room rates rather than prices for an entire chalet building, and actual charges may vary according to the booking dates.
Facilities include adult and children’s swimming pools, a jacuzzi, gym, sports court, karaoke rooms, co-working lounge, playground, gardens, convenience shop and food stall—basically enough activities to prevent anyone from complaining, “Nothing to do leh!”
Coliwoo Resort Changi is expected to open at the end of July 2026, with bookings indicating guest check-ins from 1 August 2026. It is around a nine-minute walk from Downtown East and close to Wild Wild Wet, Pasir Ris Park and the other well-known accommodation nearby, D’Resort @ Downtown East.
